Szoboszlai’s late penalty lifts Reds amid Salah fallout.

UCL: Liverpool Edge Inter 1-0 at San Siro

Liverpool grabbed a vital 1-0 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro, thanks to a late Dominik Szoboszlai penalty.

The Reds were without Mohamed Salah, who remained in England after publicly criticising manager Arne Slot, but still secured three crucial points.

Inter protested the penalty decision after Alessandro Bastoni lightly tugged Florian Wirtz’s shirt, but Szoboszlai made no mistake from the spot.

Liverpool also saw Ibrahima Konate’s first-half header disallowed for handball, while Inter struggled to create chances despite home support from nearly 74,000 fans.

The win lifts Liverpool to 12 points, pushing them into the top eight for automatic last-16 qualification. Inter, also on 12 points, face a tough path ahead with games against Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
