Super Eagles coach’s pay to be cleared as Nigeria prepares for Morocco.

Eric Chelle

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will soon receive his three months’ unpaid salaries and bonuses, a top Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official confirmed, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Chelle, who led Nigeria to the 2026 World Cup play-offs, has yet to make an official complaint about the delay. The NFF source assured, “His money will be paid. The payment is being processed and the coach is aware.”

Earlier this year, the National Sports Commission covered Chelle’s salary up to October to support the team’s World Cup campaign.

AFCON 2025 runs from December 21 to January 18, with Nigeria drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. The Eagles’ camp opens on December 10 in Egypt, with a friendly against Egypt scheduled for December 16.

Nigeria kicks off the tournament against Tanzania on December 23, faces Tunisia on December 27, and concludes group play against Uganda on December 31. The team, runners-up at the last AFCON, will aim for a fourth continental title.
