NPFL champions allow Benin goalkeeper join Rohr’s final squad for Morocco tournament.

Adebiyi Obassa

Nigeria Premier Football League champions Remo Stars have released Benin Republic goalkeeper Adebiyi Obassa to participate in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Obassa was named in Gernot Rohr’s final 28-man squad and joined the Benin camp in Ben Slimane after official communication between Remo Stars and the Benin Football Federation.

A key figure for the Ikenne-based club, the goalkeeper was instrumental in Remo Stars’ historic NPFL title win last season and has featured in seven league matches this campaign, as well as CAF Confederation Cup preliminaries.

In his absence, Remo Stars will rely on Alladun Kolimba in goal.

Benin Republic, drawn in Group C alongside Botswana, DR Congo and Senegal, will open their AFCON campaign against DR Congo on December 23.
