People’s Elephant Aim for Consistency After 3-1 Win Over Kwara United.

Lawrence Ukaegbu

Enyimba FC interim head coach Lawrence Ukaegbu has set an ambitious target for the People’s Elephant, aiming to secure nine points from their next three Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches.

The statement follows Enyimba’s 3-1 victory over Kwara United FC in Aba on Sunday, a result that lifted the club to 8th place on the NPFL table with 23 points.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Samuel Agu unleashed a long-range effort that caught the Kwara goalkeeper Nurudeen off guard. Kwara United responded eight minutes later through Toheeb Gidado, leveling the score at 1-1.

However, Chidera Michael capitalized on a defensive error to restore Enyimba’s lead, before adding a second goal three minutes later to seal the 3-1 win.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Ukaegbu said:

“Apart from the mistakes (from the Kwara United goalkeeper), you know we missed some scoring chances too. The target, however, is to get nine points from our next three games.”

The interim coach also hinted at tactical adjustments for the upcoming match against El Kanemi Warriors:

“Now, we are going to El Kanemi; we know how they play. We are not going to use the same formation, we’ll change our formation, which I will not reveal.”

Enyimba FC will be looking to maintain momentum as they push for a strong finish in the NPFL season.
