Olamilekan Adams and Sporting Supreme officials attacked in shocking stadium incident.

Olamilekan Adams

Shocking scenes at Bwari Stadium! Former Remo Stars midfielder Olamilekan Adams, Sporting Supreme FC media officer Nelson Mobougwu, and another player were brutally assaulted by police following their Nigeria National League clash against Bichi First FC.

The violence erupted after a controversial 1–0 result, with police firing tear gas and beating players mistakenly identified as irate fans. Adams, back from Europe, described the attack as terrifying:

“They almost killed me just because I tried to stop them from assaulting a player. They started hitting me with sticks and guns.”

Mobougwu confirmed the assault, adding the club had to bail them out and cover medical expenses. Adams sustained injuries needing further treatment.

This incident echoes past tragedies:

  • Maureen Mmadu (2024) – former Super Falcons star, unlawfully arrested and assaulted.
  • Tiyamu Kazeem (2020) – Remo Stars player killed by SARS in Ogun State.
  • Joseph Izu (2016) – Shooting Stars player killed in Rivers State.

Despite repeated inquiries, the FCT Police PRO has yet to provide answers. Fans and experts are calling for urgent reforms to protect players from brutality and ensure accountability.
