EFL confirms semi-final fixtures after dramatic quarter-final results.

The English Football League has confirmed the Carabao Cup semi-final draw, with Manchester City set to face holders Newcastle United in a highly anticipated clash.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will take on the winner of the Arsenal vs Crystal Palace quarter-final, which will be played on Tuesday, December 23.

The draw followed a busy night of Carabao Cup action. Manchester City sealed their place in the final four with a 2–0 win over Brentford, while Newcastle booked their spot through a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Fulham.

Earlier on Tuesday, Chelsea defeated Cardiff City 3–1, thanks to goals from Garnacho and Neto, to secure their semi-final place.

According to the EFL’s official announcement:

The first leg of the semi-finals will be played week commencing January 12, 2026, with second-leg fixtures set for week commencing February 2, 2026.
