Club History

Chelsea Football Club was founded in 1905 by Henry Augustus “Gus” Mears (and his brother Joseph) after acquiring Stamford Bridge, which they turned into a football ground when Fulham rejected leasing it. Over the years, the club grew from a mid-table side to one of England’s footballing powers, especially from the 1990s onward—winning multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups, and achieving European success including Champions League titles. Recently, Chelsea won the UEFA Conference League, qualified again for the Champions League, and are actively competing across both domestic and European cups.
