Super Eagles star sets up Patrik Schick in comeback win; debutant Montrell Culbreath seals victory in stoppage time.

Tella Shines in Leverkusen Comeback Victory

Bayer Leverkusen staged an impressive comeback to secure a 3-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga on December 20, 2025, ending the hosts’ perfect home record this season.

Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella delivered a key assist in his eighth appearance of the campaign, setting up Patrik Schick for Leverkusen’s second goal in the 44th minute.

The match started with RB Leipzig taking the lead through Xaver Schlager in the 35th minute. However, Martin Terrier quickly equalized with a header in the 40th minute.

Tella’s precise pass found Schick, who evaded his marker and finished clinically to give the visitors the lead before halftime.

Tella was substituted in the 77th minute after a strong performance. Late in stoppage time, 18-year-old debutant Montrell Culbreath sealed the victory with a brilliant goal.

The win lifts Bayer Leverkusen to third place with 29 points, overtaking RB Leipzig who also have 29 points but drop to fourth.

A vital three points for Kasper Hjulmand‘s side heading into the winter break.
