Club History

Everton Football Club began in 1878 in Liverpool as a community club, adopting the name “Everton” a year later, and was a founding member of the Football League in 1888. Over time they became one of England’s traditional top clubs, winning multiple League Championships and FA Cups. Their long-time home was Goodison Park (since 1892), a stadium steeped in history, but in 2025 they moved to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. Known as “the Toffees,” Everton are distinguished by a strong local identity, deep heritage, and loyal fan base.
