Serious Allegations Against Nigerian Youngster

Flying Eagles midfielder Daniel Daga has been formally charged with alleged non-consensual sexual conduct in Norway, his club Molde FK announced.

The incident was reported to authorities in April 2025, with both the player and club fully cooperating during the police investigation.

Molde stated: “Daniel has been informed of the charges and has been removed from training and matches for the time being. After the end of the season, Daniel traveled home… Daniel and the club have agreed that he will return to Norway ahead of the legal proceedings.”

Club chairman Odd Ivar Moen described the matter as serious: “We take the charges that have been brought very seriously.”

Daga’s lawyer, Astrid Bolstad, confirmed the 18-year-old does not admit guilt: “My client acknowledges that there was a sexual incident, but maintains that it was consensual. He believes that he has done nothing illegal… We are surprised that charges have been brought.”

The case remains ongoing, with Daga set to return to Norway for court proceedings.

A significant development for the promising Nigerian talent, who has represented the Flying Eagles at youth international level.
