Club History

Leeds United was formed in 1919 in the wake of the disbandment of Leeds City, and took over Elland Road as its home stadium. The club’s golden era came under Don Revie in the 1960s-70s, when they won multiple league titles, the FA Cup, League Cup and other honours, and were strong competitors in Europe. After periods of decline, including relegation and financial struggles, Leeds rose again, and recent seasons have seen a revival which culminated in winning the Championship in 2025 and returning to the Premier League. Their loyal, passionate fan base, rich history, and iconic ground make Leeds United one of the traditional powerhouses of English football.
