World No. 1 Wants Revenge with Tweaked Format: “I Love Revenge”.

Sabalenka Kyrgios rematch Battle of the Sexes

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is hungry for revenge after losing 6-3, 6-3 to Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile Battle of the Sexes exhibition in Dubai last month.

The amended-format match (details varied, but men typically limited in serves/court) saw the injury-plagued Australian – far down the rankings – dominate the Belarusian powerhouse.

Speaking on Thursday ahead of her title defence at the Brisbane International (warm-up for Australian Open starting January 18, live on TNT Sports/discovery+), Sabalenka confirmed she’d jump at a rematch:
“I think I would definitely do it again. I love revenge and I don’t like to leave it the way it is.

She proposed tweaks for fairness:
“I think for the next match we will come up with a different format. Before the match I didn’t realise I would have to adjust and it was a bit tricky for me. I think I would keep the full court but I would take two serves. That would even our level a lot more.”

Kyrgios, known for showmanship, has been vocal about mixed exhibitions – could a sequel happen Down Under or elsewhere in 2026? Fans are already buzzing for round two.

Sabalenka starts her season in Brisbane.
