Janaza Prayer for Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele Set for Sunday at London Central Mosque.

Anthony Joshua friends funeral London

The Janaza (Islamic funeral prayer) service for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif Kevin Ayodele – the two close friends and key members of Anthony Joshua’s training team who tragically died in a road accident in Nigeria – has been scheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Their bodies were repatriated to the United Kingdom following the fatal crash on December 29, 2025, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. The Lexus SUV carrying Joshua, Ghami (his long-time strength and conditioning coach), and Ayodele (known as “Latz,” his personal trainer) collided with a stationary truck, claiming the lives of Ghami and Ayodele at the scene. Joshua escaped with minor injuries.

The service will commence at 10:00 AM at the London Central Mosque (146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG).

A statement shared by Boxing King Media expressed: “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones.” The ceremony provides an opportunity for family, friends, the Muslim community, and the wider boxing world to gather and pay final respects to the two men who played pivotal roles in Joshua’s career.

Tributes have poured in from across the sport, highlighting Ghami and Ayodele’s dedication and impact behind the scenes.
