Osimhen Brace, Lookman and Adams Goals Seal Convincing Victory for Super Eagles.

Nigeria 4-0 Mozambique AFCON 2025

The Super Eagles of Nigeria produced a masterclass performance on January 5, 2026, dismantling Mozambique 4-0 in the Round of 16 at the Complexe Sportif de Fès to book their place in the AFCON 2025 quarter-finals.

Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a clinical finish, before Victor Osimhen doubled the lead just five minutes later. The Galatasaray striker added his second early in the second half (47′), tapping home from close range.

Sevilla’s Akor Adams completed the rout in the 75th minute with a powerful strike, capping off a night where Nigeria’s attack was simply unstoppable.

Mozambique, making their debut in the knockout stage, fought bravely but could not match the three-time champions’ quality. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali kept a clean sheet, with the defence rarely troubled.

Nigeria now boast 12 goals in four matches – the highest in the tournament – and remain unbeaten under coach Eric Chelle.

The Super Eagles will face the winner of Tuesday’s clash between Algeria and DR Congo in the quarter-finals on January 10 in Marrakech.

This emphatic win sends a strong message to the rest of the field as Nigeria chase a fourth AFCON title.
