Nigeria Depart Fès on Thursday for Blockbuster Clash in Marrakesh.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are preparing to relocate from Fès to Marrakech on Thursday, January 8, 2026, ahead of their highly anticipated AFCON 2025 quarter-final showdown.

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed the travel plans on Tuesday, January 6, following Algeria’s dramatic extra-time victory over DR Congo, which sealed the Desert Foxes as Nigeria’s opponents.

After contesting all three group stage matches and the Round of 16 tie (a convincing 4-0 win over Mozambique) in Fès, the team will now shift base to Marrakech for the last-eight encounter at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Saturday, January 10.

A recovery session was held on Tuesday at the Sardienne complex, with 26 players participating in full training. Defender Ryan Alebiosu continues his individual recovery programme from injury.

Efoghe also addressed reports surrounding striker Akor Adams, clarifying that the Sevilla forward did not leave camp long-term. Adams briefly stepped out of the team hotel – just a few minutes’ drive away – to visit his parents in Fès and returned in less than an hour, before lunchtime.

The squad remains focused and united as they gear up for a repeat of the 2019 semi-final against Algeria, whom they aim to overcome this time.

This quarter-final promises to be a clash of titans: Nigeria’s explosive attack versus Algeria’s resolute defence.
