Brahim Díaz and Ismaël Saïbari on Target as Atlas Lions Dominate in Rabat.

Morocco vs Cameroon AFCON 2025

The Atlas Lions of Morocco have powered into the semi-finals of AFCON 2025 with a dominant 2-0 victory over Cameroon in Friday’s second quarter-final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Brahim Díaz, the tournament’s leading scorer, extended his hot streak by opening the scoring in the 26th minute, poking home from close range to make it 1-0 and notch his fifth goal of the competition.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 73rd minute through Ismaël Saïbari, who controlled a deep set-piece delivery superbly before firing a rocket into the bottom corner, leaving Cameroon goalkeeper Devis Epassy helpless.

Despite a resilient effort from the Indomitable Lions, who pushed for a response in the second half, Morocco’s solid defense and clinical finishing proved too much. The result sees the hosts advance to face the winner of Egypt vs Ivory Coast in the semi-finals on Wednesday, January 14.

This victory keeps Morocco’s dream of a first AFCON title since 1976 alive on home soil, with Walid Regragui’s side yet to concede from open play in the tournament. Cameroon exit with heads held high after a tough campaign marked by off-field challenges.

The electric atmosphere in Rabat, fueled by passionate home support, added to the occasion as Morocco march on.
