Arsenal’s ambition to enlarge the Emirates Stadium has drawn a note of caution from London Mayor Sir Sadiq Khan, who says the club should expect “multiple obstacles” as they push forward with the project.

The North London side is currently exploring proposals to increase the stadium’s capacity to more than 70,000 seats. Early estimates suggest the upgrade could require an investment of around £500 million. While the expansion would mark a significant step forward for the club’s long-term vision, it will also involve navigating complex regulatory, planning, and community challenges.

As Arsenal continues its feasibility studies, all eyes will be on how the club addresses these hurdles and whether the ambitious redevelopment can move from concept to reality.
