Allan Saint-Maximin

Allan Saint-Maximin could line up for Haiti at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after confirming he is eligible to play for the Caribbean nation through his father, with no FIFA paperwork or switch-of-allegiance procedure required.

The 28-year-old Fenerbahçe winger, who has never been capped by France at senior level despite 11 youth appearances (U16 to U21), remains free to declare for Haiti at any time. Haitian Football Federation officials have already held preliminary talks with Saint-Maximin’s representatives, and the player has not closed the door on the possibility.

Saint-Maximin, currently on loan at Fenerbahçe from Al-Ahli, has rediscovered his best form this season with 6 goals and 8 assists in 18 appearances across all competitions. A World Cup call-up would make him by far the highest-profile player in Haiti’s history.

Haiti competing in CONCACAF 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Haiti are currently competing in CONCACAF 2026 World Cup qualifying and sit second in Group C of the second round behind Curaçao. A top-two finish would send them into the final hexagonal phase starting in 2025.

No final decision has been taken, but sources close to the player say he is seriously considering the opportunity to represent his father’s country on the biggest stage.
