Arsenal Face Injury Concern Ahead of London Derby

Leandro Trossard’s Leg Issue Puts Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta on Alert Before Chelsea Clash.

Arsenal have been dealt a potential injury setback ahead of their crucial London derby against Chelsea on Sunday, with Leandro Trossard a doubt after limping off during the Gunners’ Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

Trossard exited shortly before halftime, showing discomfort in his left leg despite treatment from Arsenal’s medical staff. He shared a brief exchange with manager Mikel Arteta before heading down the tunnel. Speaking after the match, Arteta explained:

“With Leo, we don’t know [the extent of his injury]. He said he felt something. We didn’t want to take any risk, obviously.”

This comes as a blow for Arteta, who has successfully guided Arsenal to the top of both the Premier League and Champions League despite managing a string of injuries this season.

In Trossard’s absence against Bayern, Noni Madueke stepped up, scoring Arsenal’s second goal, while Gabriel Martinelli, returning from injury in the second half, added the third in a 3-1 win. Captain Martin Odegaard also returned late in the game.

However, Arsenal still face a significant injury list, with Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes all sidelined, leaving Arteta to carefully manage his squad ahead of a high-stakes clash at Stamford Bridge.
