Nigerian Midfielder Expected to Miss AFCON 2025 After Returning to Brentford for Treatment.

Belgian Pro League side FCV Dender have confirmed that Benjamin Fredrick has returned to Brentford for treatment following a knee injury sustained in training after international duty with Nigeria.

The 20-year-old midfielder is now expected to miss the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, set to kick off in Morocco next month.

A statement on Dender’s official website read:

“Behind the scenes, we’re working hard to help our injured players recover. With this update, we’d like to keep you updated on their progress. Benjamin has suffered a knee injury. He is now beginning his rehabilitation in England at Brentford.”

Fredrick, a former junior international, has become an important player for the Super Eagles, making his debut against Jamaica in May and starting Éric Chelle’s side in the last six games.
