33-Year-Old Striker Seeks Regular Football Amid New Signings.

Callum Wilson West Ham contract termination

West Ham United are finalising discussions for a mutual termination of striker Callum Wilson‘s contract on January 7, 2026, allowing the 33-year-old to leave six months early.

Wilson joined the Hammers on a free transfer last summer after leaving Newcastle United, signing a one-year incentive-heavy deal. He has scored four goals in 18 appearances but seen his role diminish with the January arrivals of Brazilian forward Pablo Felipe (from Gil Vicente, ~£21m) and Argentine Taty Castellanos (from Lazio, ~£25m).

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo addressed the situation openly: “Me and Callum have had a lot of conversations… Callum is a very experienced man; he knows that his position has changed. We were honest with each other… We still may need him.”

Despite the honesty, Wilson is keen on regular minutes elsewhere, with potential interest from clubs in the UK and abroad – including reports linking him to Sevilla.

The move would free up wages and squad space as West Ham battle relegation, sitting near the bottom of the Premier League.

An official announcement is expected soon, marking a short-lived spell for the former England international in east London.
