Club History

Founded in 1882 as Hotspur FC in North London, Tottenham Hotspur, now playing at the 62,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, rose to prominence with the 1950–51 First Division title and the 1960–61 league and FA Cup Double under Bill Nicholson. They became the first British club to win a major European trophy, the 1963 Cup Winners’ Cup, and added two UEFA Cups (1972, 1984), eight FA Cups, and four League Cups. Despite a 1991 FA Cup and 2008 League Cup, recent decades saw no major silverware, though Mauricio Pochettino’s 2014–2019 era brought a 2019 Champions League final. Under Ange Postecoglou since 2023, Spurs continue their attacking resurgence with two league titles.
