Surprise Permanent Deal Agreed; Medical Imminent for Club Legend.

Pascal Groß

Brighton & Hove Albion have pulled off a stunning coup, agreeing a permanent deal to bring back club legend Pascal Groß from Borussia Dortmund, just 17 months after selling him.

Fabrizio Romano gave the famous “Here We Go!” confirmation on December 31, 2025: verbal agreement reached, with medical scheduled in the next 48 hours.

The fee is reported around €1.5-2m (potentially +€1m add-ons) – a bargain for the 34-year-old versatile midfielder who became a Brighton icon over seven years (261 apps, 32 goals, 52 assists, all-time PL top scorer until recently overtaken by Welbeck).

Groß joined his boyhood club Dortmund in August 2024 for €7-8m on a two-year deal but struggled for minutes under Niko Kovač (just 700 in Bundesliga). With his contract running to June 2026, Dortmund cashed in early rather than lose him for free.

A heartfelt homecoming for the German international (16 caps) – experience, leadership, and set-piece magic back at the Amex under Fabian Hürzeler. Seagulls fans buzzing for this emotional reunion.

Welcome home, Pascal! What a way to start 2026.
