Ikorodu City Forward Signs Two-Year Deal with Topflight Bulgarian Club

Nigerian forward Shola Adelani has completed a permanent move from Ikorodu City to Bulgarian topflight club Botev Plovdiv, signing a two-year contract, Sportblits.com reports.

Ikorodu City confirmed the deal on X, adding that the Nigerian club will also benefit from a sell-on clause of over 10% for Adelani’s next transfer.

“Shola Adelani heads to Bulgaria. The winger completes a 2-year permanent deal to Botev Plovdiv in the topflight. Stay sharp champ. Good luck @shola_adelani,” the NPFL side announced.

Adelani enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Nigerian top-flight, registering 12 goals and eight assists for Ikorodu City.

Botev Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s oldest active football club, has won the Bulgarian First Division title twice and finished sixth last season under coach Dimitar Dimitrov.

The move represents a significant step in Adelani’s career as he takes on European football, aiming to make an impact in Bulgaria and beyond.
