Nigerian Midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro Eyes AFCON 2025 Return After Injury Lay-Off.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro

Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro is set to return to action for Pisa on December 8, ending a three-week injury layoff, Sportblits.com reports.

The 21-year-old suffered a shoulder injury on November 7 during Pisa’s Serie A clash against Cremonese at Arena Garibaldi, forcing him off in the 68th minute. The injury ruled him out of contention for the Super Eagles’ CAF World Cup playoff squad and sidelined him for Pisa’s last two league matches.

Return Boost For Pisa:

Akinsanmiro, on loan from Inter Milan, is known for his work rate, technical ability, and physicality. His coach, Alberto Gilardino, has previously praised his performances, highlighting his importance to the team.

AFCON 2025 Prospects:

With AFCON 2025 kicking off on December 18 and final squads due by December 11, Akinsanmiro has just one game to impress Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle. Scouts are expected to monitor his return closely, and he is likely to be included in Nigeria’s provisional 55-man squad.

Although he has missed recent games, his strong start to the season positions him as a serious contender for his maiden Super Eagles call-up. Even if he does not feature immediately, Akinsanmiro is seen as a promising talent for the national team’s future.
