Nigeria continue AFCON preparations after Egypt friendly defeat.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to arrive in Fèz, Morocco today (Thursday) to continue preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Team official Promise Efoghe confirmed that the squad will leave Cairo this afternoon and begin their first training session in Fèz at 6pm local time.

The Super Eagles opened their AFCON camp in Cairo on Monday and played a friendly match on Tuesday, losing 2-1 to Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium.

Nigeria, three-time African champions, have been drawn in Group C alongside:

  • Tanzania
  • Tunisia
  • Uganda

Eric Chelle’s team will begin their campaign against Tanzania next Tuesday, followed by clashes with Tunisia on December 27 and Uganda on December 30.

All three group-stage matches will be played at the Grand Stade de Fèz.
