Nigeria fine-tune preparations for Group C clash on Tuesday, eyeing strong start in quest for fourth title.

Super Eagles Gear Up for Tanzania Clash

The Super Eagles continued their intense preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with their fourth training session at their base in Fès, Morocco, on Sunday, December 22, 2025.

Nigeria face Tanzania‘s Taifa Stars in their Group C opener on Tuesday, December 23, at the Complexe Sportif de Fès.

After arriving in Morocco last Thursday, the team has held multiple sessions over the weekend, building on a five-day camp in Egypt that included a 2-1 friendly loss to the hosts.

The three-time champions (1980, 1994, 2013) are runners-up from the last edition and aim for a fourth title.

Opponents: Tanzania’s Key Threats

Tanzania, in only their fourth AFCON appearance, are yet to win a match (3 draws, 6 losses in previous tournaments).

Coach Miguel Gamondi will likely rely on experienced duo Mbwana Samatta (Le Havre) and Simon Msuva (Iraq), alongside wing-back Mohammed Hussein and midfielder Feisal Salum.

Nigeria hold a historical edge, winning 3-1 in their only previous AFCON meeting in 1980.

Subsequent Group C fixtures: vs Tunisia (Dec 27) and Uganda (Dec 30).

NFF Launches Campaign

The NFF has unveiled the NAIJA 4 THE WIN campaign to rally support as the Super Eagles seek continental glory.
