Chaos in Bolivian Cup as 17 Red Cards Are Handed Out

Blooming vs Real Oruro Marred by Violence, Police Intervention, and Multiple Injuries.

A Bolivian Cup quarter-final between Blooming and Real Oruro descended into utter chaos as 17 players and staff were sent off following a massive post-match brawl. The 2-2 draw saw Blooming advance to the semi-finals on a 2-1 aggregate from the first leg, but celebrations were overshadowed by shocking scenes of violence.

Clips circulating on social media show players and staff clashing in a huge crowd, with punches thrown and police forced to deploy tear gas to restore order. The incident reportedly began when Oruro star Sebastian Zeballos, restrained by Blooming players, broke free and started shoving opponents. Team-mate Julio Vila also threw punches, escalating the situation further.

Chaos continued as Oruro coach Marcelo Robledo confronted another coach, was pushed, and fell backwards. Around 20 police officers intervened while Blooming coach Mauricio Soria led his squad to the dressing room to calm tensions.

Referee Renan Castillo handed out seven red cards to Blooming players and four to Oruro stars, with the remaining dismissals including the coaching staff from both sides. Earlier, Blooming forward Cesar Menacho had already been sent off for offensive language.

The violence left multiple people injured. Robledo suffered a shoulder injury and a head blow, requiring hospitalization, while a Blooming official sustained a fractured cheekbone. Castillo is expected to submit his report to the Sports Disciplinary Tribunal in Bolivia for further action.

The shocking events have sparked outrage and dominated social media, marking one of the most infamous matches in recent Bolivian football history.
