Italian star, England heroine honoured after title-winning seasons.

Donnarumma, Chelsea’s Hampton Crowned FIFA’s Best Goalkeepers

Gianluigi Donnarumma and Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton have been crowned FIFA’s Best Goalkeepers after outstanding, trophy-laden seasons at club and international level.

According to BBC Sport, Donnarumma’s heroics played a decisive role in Paris Saint-Germain’s first-ever Champions League triumph before his summer move to Manchester City, sealing his place as the world’s top men’s goalkeeper.

The Italian shot-stopper also collected the Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in September, where he was honoured alongside Hampton.

Hampton, 25, enjoyed a remarkable year, anchoring Chelsea’s domestic treble and helping England successfully defend their Euro 2025 title. She featured in every game of the tournament, including the dramatic final win over Spain on penalties.

At club level, Hampton was ever-present in Chelsea’s unbeaten Women’s Super League campaign, finishing the season with 13 clean sheets to claim the Golden Glove.

“With club and country, we have achieved so much, and there is still much more for us to go and get,” Hampton said as she thanked Chelsea boss Sonia Bompastor, England coach Sarina Wiegman and the fans for their support.

Meanwhile, Lizbeth Ovalle claimed the Marta Award for the best goal in women’s football after her stunning scorpion kick for Tigres in Mexico, while Santiago Montiel won the Puskas Award for his spectacular overhead strike in Argentina.

The awards capped a night celebrating football’s finest moments, with Donnarumma and Hampton emerging as the standout performers between the posts.
