US Agents Study Morocco’s Advanced Protocols Ahead of 2026 World Cup.

FBI AFCON 2025 Algeria DR Congo

A high-level delegation from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be in attendance at the AFCON 2025 Round of 16 clash between Algeria and DR Congo at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat on January 6, 2026.

The American team, visiting Morocco from January 4-6, is focusing on the host nation’s cutting-edge security arrangements during the tournament. Particular attention will be paid to pre-match operations, including the reception and supervision of foreign fans, as well as coordination between Moroccan authorities and international law enforcement.

Led by senior officials Douglas Olson and Kevin Kowalski, the delegation has already assessed measures at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium during earlier matches. They reviewed drone surveillance, high-definition cameras, access controls, and operations at the African Security Cooperation Center in Rabat.

This visit underscores growing US-Morocco security ties, with the FBI keen to learn from Morocco’s model for major events. The insights will directly inform preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada – where FIFA mandates similar international cooperation centers.

Morocco’s advanced setup, including AI-powered cameras and thousands of dedicated officers, has impressed observers and sets a benchmark for the upcoming global tournament.

As Algeria and DR Congo battle for a quarter-final spot, security remains seamless behind the scenes.
