Aina making steady progress as he works back to full fitness.

Ola Aina

Nottingham Forest head coach Sean Dyche has provided a positive update on Ola Aina, who suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty with Nigeria in September, reports sportbits.com.

The 29-year-old defender, formerly of Chelsea, is gradually returning to full fitness and recently featured for Forest’s U-21 side against Millwall.

Dyche revealed that Aina is training more regularly with the first team, but cautioned that his recovery must continue to be carefully managed.

“Ola is halfway through his progress in fitness, training more regularly with the team now, so that is good. Obviously, it’s been a long-term injury, so we have to be careful with that one,” said Dyche.

Aina has made three league appearances for Nottingham Forest so far this season.
