People’s Elephant End First Half of Season on High Note with Convincing Home Win.

Enyimba 3-0 Shooting Stars NPFL

Enyimba FC delivered a dominant performance to crush Shooting Stars (3SC) 3-0 in their 2025/26 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

The People’s Elephant controlled proceedings from start to finish, with Chinedu Ufere breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute. Substitute Ezekiel Edidiong doubled the lead in the 85th minute – his fourth goal of the season, before Chidera Michael (nicknamed ‘Morata’) capped the rout in stoppage time with his sixth strike in his debut NPFL campaign.

Interim coach Stanley Ukaegbu was delighted with the result, describing it as the “perfect Christmas gift” for the fans, management, and people of Abia State.

He told reporters post-match: “Yeah, the scores and the win were important for us to move up the table. That was our plan, to step into the New Year with victory, and as God would have it, we got the desired result: three points and three goals.”

Ukaegbu credited tactical adjustments for the improved attacking flair: “We went back to the drawing board and made some changes in our tactics and formation. You can see that even in away games, we are scoring goals, and we intend to consolidate on that.”

Looking ahead to the second half of the season after the mid-season break, he added confidently:
“The league is just starting. We have just ended the first phase, and Enyimba will explode in the second round. We are aiming to finish very high on the log.”

The victory lifts Enyimba to 8th place with 26 points, setting a positive tone as the NPFL pauses until January 14, 2026.

A festive boost for the nine-time champions – the Elephant is roaring.
