Solid Miners maintain top spot after goalless draw.

Mbwas Mangut

Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut expressed satisfaction following his team’s 0-0 draw against Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday. The result allowed the Solid Miners to maintain their lead atop the NPFL table with 31 points from 17 matches.

Mangut emphasized that the team’s game plan paid off, particularly given Plateau United’s desire to bounce back after a previous home defeat.

“In every game, we plan to get the maximum points, regardless of the venue. Plateau United would throw everything at us to return to winning ways, especially since we hadn’t gotten points against them here before,” Mangut said.

He added that while both teams had moments of control, the draw was a fair outcome and not a negative result.

“Plateau United aren’t a bad side. They are simply passing through a transition which could happen to any team, but I know they will come out of their murky waters sooner than later,” Mangut noted.

Looking ahead, Mangut reiterated the club’s focus on taking one game at a time, while leaving the door open for a title challenge if opportunities arise.

“Our plan is to put our team in a very good position, but also, if opportunity presents itself, we could as well challenge for the title, no harm in doing so. But for now, the target is one game at a time.”

With this result, Nasarawa United continue to lead the NPFL, demonstrating consistency and strategic gameplay as they aim to strengthen their title credentials this season.
