Nigeria Gear Up for Wednesday Showdown in Rabat After Convincing 2-0 Quarter-Final Win Over Algeria.

Super Eagles Return To Fez Training Camp

The Nigeria Super Eagles are back at their designated AFCON 2025 base in the historic city of Fez, Morocco, kicking off preparations for their highly anticipated semi-final showdown against the tournament hosts, Morocco.

Following their impressive 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria in Marrakech, the team made the journey back to Fez as per CAF‘s new policy for this edition — each participating nation is assigned a fixed camp throughout the tournament, requiring returns to base after every match.

Team media officer Promise Efoghe confirmed the update on Sunday, noting that the squad held a recovery session at the Saardienne football complex in Fez to begin tactical work for the big game.

Recovery and Preparation Underway

The squad conducted a light recovery session to shake off any fatigue from the intense quarter-final. Thankfully, there are no fresh injury concerns reported. However, midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will miss the semi-final after picking up his second yellow card of the knockout stages.

The team remains in high spirits after outclassing Algeria with clinical goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams.

The Semi-Final Showdown: Nigeria vs Morocco

Nigeria will face the Atlas Lions on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off set for 9 pm local time. This iconic venue has served as Morocco’s home ground throughout the tournament, giving the hosts a familiar and passionate atmosphere.

A win would keep the Super Eagles in Rabat for the final on Sunday, while a defeat would see them travel to Casablanca for the third-place play-off on Saturday.

Morocco, fresh from their 2-0 win over Cameroon, will be buoyed by home support as they chase continental glory on home soil.

Super Eagles’ Focus and Momentum

With no major injury worries and a squad brimming with confidence, the Super Eagles are fully focused on causing an upset against the hosts. The new CAF camp policy, while logistically demanding, has allowed the team to maintain consistency in their preparation environment.
