Hammers target energetic midfielder as Nuno pushes for January reinforcements.

Tochukwu Nnadi

West Ham United are preparing a €4m January bid for Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi as manager Nuno Espírito Santo seeks fresh energy in midfield to boost the club’s fight for Premier League survival.

Sitting 18th after 15 matches, the Hammers remain just two points from safety and are accelerating transfer plans after inconsistent results following Graham Potter’s departure.

According to TEAMtalk, West Ham view the 22-year-old Zulte Waregem midfielder as an ideal fit for their needs. Nnadi, who previously spent three seasons at Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria, has impressed scouts with his ball-winning ability, aggressive pressing, stamina and tackling range.

The club is reportedly ready to offer a five-year contract, with a fee of around €4m expected to secure the deal — a low-cost option for a player seen as having high upside.

However, West Ham face competition.
Brighton have scouted Nnadi due to his suitability for their high-pressing style, while Leeds United are also monitoring him for their survival push.

Newcastle and Crystal Palace are keeping tabs as well, raising pressure on West Ham to move quickly if they hope to land the highly rated Nigerian prospect.
