Super Eagles Star Joins La Liga Giants After Stellar Atalanta Spell.

Atlético de Madrid have officially completed the signing of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Serie A side Atalanta, with the attacker committing to a four-year deal that will keep him at the club until 30 June 2030.
The La Liga outfit confirmed the transfer on Monday via their official website, describing Lookman as one of Europe’s most decisive attackers following an outstanding spell in Italy.
According to the club, Lookman successfully passed his medical examination at the Vithas-Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre in Madrid before heading to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, where he was welcomed by CEO Miguel Ángel Gil and completed the signing of his contract.

Born in Wandsworth, London, on 20 October 1997, Lookman began his football journey at Waterloo FC and Charlton Athletic, making his senior debut for Charlton in November 2015. His career later took him across England and Germany, with spells at Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City, before joining Atalanta in 2022.
During his time in Bergamo, Lookman enjoyed the most prolific period of his career, making 137 appearances, scoring 55 goals, and providing 27 assists. He played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s historic 2023/24 UEFA Europa League triumph, memorably scoring a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen to secure the club’s first-ever continental title.
On the international stage, Lookman initially represented England at youth level and was part of the squad that won the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He later switched allegiance to Nigeria, making his senior debut for the Super Eagles in March 2022, and has since earned 41 caps, scoring 11 goals.
Atlético Madrid will now look to integrate Lookman immediately as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new season and push for success in La Liga and European competition.
