Manchester United’s Bryan Mbeumo now shares top spot with Achraf Hakimi in latest market value rankings.

Bryan Mbeumo has overtaken Victor Osimhen to become Africa’s joint most valuable player alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi, according to the latest Transfermarkt market value rankings.
The Bryan Mbeumo is now valued at €80m, matching Hakimi, while Victor Osimhen drops to €75m, sharing third place with Ghana’s Antoine Semenyo. Mbeumo’s rise highlights his club performances and growing influence at Manchester United, whereas Osimhen’s valuation has remained stagnant since his 2025 move to Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who reached a career-high €120m at Napoli in 2023, remains the most valuable player in the Süper Lig and Nigeria’s highest-valued player. However, at 27, he is the oldest among the top 10 African talents, which affects long-term valuation compared to younger stars such as Carlos Baleba, 22, and Amad Diallo, 23.

The updated rankings show a heavy emphasis on attacking players, with six of the top 10 operating as forwards or wingers, including Mbeumo, Semenyo, Omar Marmoush, Mohammed Kudus, and Iliman Ndiaye. Only Hakimi represents defenders at the elite level, reflecting the premium placed on attacking output in modern valuations.
Globally, Osimhen now ranks 41st overall and 8th among centre-forwards, a drop from his previous elite status. Transfermarkt’s Turkey area manager, Lara Karacan, noted that Osimhen’s valuation is influenced not only by his on-field performances but also his commercial appeal and global brand.
Restrictions tied to his Galatasaray contract have limited his transfer options, effectively ruling out moves back to Italy and leaving the Premier League as the most realistic destination. Despite scoring 11 goals in 18 league matches and impressing in the Champions League, analysts note that consistent impact in decisive fixtures is key to further boosting his market value.
Mbeumo’s rise signals a shift at the top of African football’s valuation hierarchy, emphasizing the growing influence of younger attacking talents on the continent.
