Celtic legend Packie Bonner has heaped praise on Kelechi Iheanacho following his decisive contribution in Celtic FC’s 2–1 win over Hibernian FC at Easter Road.
Iheanacho once again proved his value as a super-sub, coming off the bench to score the winning goal in a tightly contested encounter. Remarkably, six of his seven goals this season have come as a substitute, underlining his effectiveness in crucial moments.
Reacting to the performance, Bonner highlighted the striker’s importance despite concerns over his ability to last a full match.

“Everybody connected with Celtic breathed a sigh of relief at the end. They made really hard work of it,” Bonner said.
“Iheanacho came off the bench and he’s a proven striker. The big problem for him is lasting a full game but what an impact he made. The goal was really, really good.”
Celtic remain firmly in the hunt for the Scottish Premiership title as they continue to chase leaders Heart of Midlothian.
Attention now turns to one of the biggest fixtures in Scottish football, as Celtic prepare for the Old Firm derby against Rangers FC.
Iheanacho the difference-maker — and Celtic’s title hopes remain alive.
