
Tobi Amusan has powered into the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, Ghana.
The Nigerian superstar produced another dominant display on Tuesday, winning her heat in a season-best time of 12.82 seconds.
Amusan qualifies fastest overall
The world record holder looked sharp and composed throughout the race as she comfortably secured qualification for the final.
Amusan’s performance made her the fastest overall qualifier across both semifinal heats as she continues her pursuit of a third African title.
The 29-year-old remains one of Nigeria’s strongest gold medal hopes at the championships.
Mixed outing for Team Nigeria
Elsewhere, Janet Sunday made her debut appearance at the championships but finished second in her heat.
The race was won by Ghanaian record holder Evonne Britton.
Final set for Accra showdown
The women’s 100m hurdles final will take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, where Amusan will attempt to add another African crown to her impressive collection.
