European giants battle for the Atalanta teenage defender as Premier League clubs intensify scouting.

Real Madrid have joined the race for Honest Ahanor, the highly rated 17-year-old Nigerian defender currently impressing at Atalanta. The Spanish giants are now competing with Chelsea and Manchester City, intensifying the battle for one of Europe’s most promising young talents.

The left-sided starlet has emerged as a standout performer in Serie A, quickly becoming one of the most closely monitored defenders in Europe. Chelsea has led the chase for Ahanor, having tracked him since his youth career at Genoa, while Manchester CityManchester UnitedTottenham, and Newcastle are also actively scouting the teenager. Even Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig have sent scouts to watch him in Italy this season.

Ahanor, who joined Atalanta in a €20m summer deal, has shown remarkable adaptability, capable of playing centre-backfull-back, and midfield roles. He has already made six senior starts this season, proving his readiness for top-level football.

The Super Eagles-eligible defender will be allowed to move to England at the end of the season when he turns 18 in February, opening the door for Premier League clubs to make decisive moves.
