€5m Bid Deemed “Unacceptable” by Czech Club; Player Keen on Move.

Rafiu Durosinmi

West Ham United have made an opening bid for prolific Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi from Viktoria Plzen, but the offer falls short of the Czech club’s valuation.

Reports from iSport.cz and Daily Post Nigeria (January 1, 2026) state the Hammers tabled €5m (£4.3m), described as “unacceptable” by Plzen, who demand significantly more for the 22-year-old.

Earlier UK sources (late December 2025) suggested bids around £11-12m (~€13-14m), with competition from Stuttgart, Lazio, and others. The lower figure may reflect ongoing negotiations or a testing-the-waters approach amid West Ham’s need for attacking reinforcements under pressure on Nuno Espírito Santo.

Durosinmi, a 6’4″ physical forward with pace and finishing, has impressed with 13 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season. The Super Eagles-eligible talent is reportedly keen on the move to the Premier League.

Plzen remain in a strong position (contract until 2027), but player desire could force progress. West Ham unlikely to “significantly increase” beyond initial targets, per sources.
