34-Year-Old Defender Set for Free Transfer in July 2026, Potential January Move on the Cards.

Jorge Pulido Almería transfer

Reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that UD Almería have reached a full agreement with experienced centre-back Jorge Pulido on a pre-contract for the summer of 2026.

The 34-year-old captain of SD Huesca, whose current contract expires on June 30, 2026, has committed to a two-year deal with the rojiblancos, meaning he will join as a free agent from July 1, 2026.

However, Pulido is eager to make the move as soon as possible. Sources indicate that an immediate January transfer could happen if the two Segunda División clubs reach an agreement on a fee.

Almería have been long-term admirers of Pulido, with previous interest noted in past windows. The club is looking to strengthen their defence amid injuries and inconsistent form in the second tier.

Huesca, meanwhile, view Pulido as an irreplaceable leader – he recently celebrated 300 appearances for the club and remains a key figure under coach Jon Pérez Bolo. The Aragonese side would prefer to keep him until the end of the season but may be open to negotiations if a suitable offer arrives.

Pulido, a product of Atlético Madrid’s academy, has spent nine seasons at Huesca, contributing to their promotions and establishing himself as one of the most reliable defenders in Spanish second-tier football.

This development adds intrigue to the January transfer window in LaLiga2, with Almería pushing for reinforcements in their promotion bid.
