Super Eagles midfielder closes in on temporary move as playing time dries up at St Mary’s Stadium.

Nigeria international Joe Aribo is set to join Leicester City on loan for the remainder of the season, according to reports from Sportblits.com.
The midfielder has struggled for opportunities at Southampton, making just seven appearances this season for the Sky Bet Championship side. With limited game time, the Saints have decided to allow the 29-year-old to leave St Mary’s Stadium temporarily.

Aribo, who has six months remaining on his contract, is expected to depart before becoming a free agent in the summer. The loan move will also help Southampton reduce their wage bill, making it a financially sensible decision for the club.
The former Rangers star is expected to complete the switch before Monday’s transfer deadline day, with Leicester City keen to strengthen their midfield options for the run-in.
Since joining Southampton in 2022, Aribo has made 111 appearances across all competitions, bringing experience and versatility that Leicester will hope proves vital in the second half of the season.
