Veteran striker Chisom Egbuchulam joins USL Championship side after globe-trotting career.

Detroit City FC have officially announced the signing of Chisom Egbuchulam on a one-year contract, with an option to extend until 2027.
The USL Championship side confirmed the deal in a statement released on their official website on Friday.
“Detroit City Football Club announced today that Nigerian forward Chisom Egbuchulam has signed with the club on a one-year deal with a club option for 2027.”
The club added that the forward, who will wear shirt number 26, joins pending league and federation approval.

Egbuchulam arrives in Detroit after spending the 2024–25 season with Al‑Jandal in Saudi Arabia. Now 33, the Enugu-born striker brings with him a wealth of international experience, having played across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
He first rose to prominence in Nigeria with Enugu Rangers, before earning a move to Sweden in 2017 with BK Häcken. He later impressed at Falkenbergs FF, scoring 14 league goals during the 2018 Superettan campaign.
Egbuchulam also enjoyed productive spells with Suwon FC in South Korea and Meizhou Hakka, where his 20-goal season in 2021 played a key role in securing promotion to the Chinese Super League. More recently, he featured for Hatta Club and Al-Jandal.
On the international stage, Egbuchulam earned a call-up to the Nigeria Super Eagles, and was part of the squad during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
