Former Nigeria U23 invitee commits future to Woking with release clause included in new contract.

Former Nigeria U23 invitee Tim Akinola has signed a new two-year contract with Woking FC, putting an end to speculation surrounding his future.
The deal will keep the midfielder at the club until the end of the 2027–28 season, as Woking move quickly to secure one of their key players following strong transfer interest.
Several clubs, including York City FC, Rochdale AFC, Peterborough United, Crawley Town FC, St Mirren FC, and Waterford FC, had been monitoring his situation during the January transfer window.
To fend off suitors, Woking included a five-figure release clause in the contract — reportedly under £100,000 — allowing Akinola to leave if a club meets the valuation.
The 24-year-old has been a consistent performer this season, making 41 appearances across all competitions and contributing both offensively and defensively.
A product of the Arsenal FC academy, Akinola has built experience across multiple clubs, including Huddersfield Town, Chesterfield FC, and Dundee United FC.
The new deal reflects Woking’s intent to secure his future while still leaving the door open for a potential move if the right offer arrives.
