Super Eagles striker reveals footballers earn more than musicians in Nigeria.

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has weighed in on the long-standing debate of who earns more — footballers or musicians, giving a definitive answer in favor of footballers, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria is home to world-class football talent like Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, and Osimhen himself, as well as global music icons such as Tems, Rema, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

Osimhen, currently in Nigeria on a short break from Galatasaray after sustaining a hand injury in their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool, sat down with content creator Carter Efe for a livestream where he discussed wealth, career, and lifestyle.
The striker showcased his luxury car collection, which includes a G-Wagon, Lamborghini Urus, Lamborghini Revuelto, and a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge. When asked about earnings, Osimhen revealed that footballers command higher pay than musicians, citing his own status as the highest-paid Nigerian footballer.

Converted to naira, Osimhen reportedly earns around ₦100 million daily, not including loyalty bonuses, travel incentives, appearance fees, goal or clean sheet bonuses, win/point bonuses, squad bonuses for trophies, and individual achievement rewards. He also emphasized that top players receive endorsement deals and sponsorships, further boosting their income.
Osimhen concluded that while breaking into professional football is challenging, successful Nigerian footballers abroad experience significant lifestyle improvements and elevated family standings, often out-earning even the most popular music stars in the country.
Osimhen Quote:
“Footballers earn more than musicians. The salaries, bonuses, and brand deals make the difference. Playing for a good club abroad changes your life and your family’s life.”
