Colombian Defender’s Transfer Adds Depth and Versatility to Montréal’s Backline.

Brayan Vera

CF Montréal are poised to sign Brayan Vera from Real Salt Lake for a $1.5 million fee plus add-ons, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 26-year-old Colombian, who joined RSL on a three-year deal in February 2023 (with options through 2026), offers versatility as a centre-back or left-back. His path includes youth time at Leones FC, a 2019 move to Italy’s US Lecce, loans at Cosenza and América de Cali, and 13 caps for Colombia’s U-20 side at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

This addresses Montréal’s defensive needs ahead of the MLS Cup Playoffs. For RSL, it’s a profitable sale as Vera’s contract nears its end.

Medicals are imminent, with an announcement expected soon.
