Oliseh Claims PSG Have Evolved Without Mbappé
Former Nigerian international Sunday Oliseh has made a bold claim about Paris Saint-Germain following the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid.
According to Oliseh, PSG are now a more balanced, disciplined, and united side without the French superstar dominating the spotlight.
The former Super Eagles midfielder believes the Paris club has transformed into a team where collective effort matters more than individual status.
“The Team Is Now The Star”
Speaking on the Sunday Oliseh Global Football Insights Show, Oliseh explained that PSG’s current success is built on teamwork, pressing, and sacrifice rather than superstar influence.
“When PSG lose the ball in the previous team, no one was pressing.”
“They have now sacrificed egos, the superstars. The team is now the star.”
Oliseh pointed out that the club’s younger players now appear more hungry and committed to the badge, helping create a stronger mentality within the squad.
Oliseh: “Mbappé Did Them A Favour”

The former Juventus midfielder went even further by suggesting Mbappé’s exit may actually have benefited PSG in the long run.
“Mbappé did them a favour.”
“Prior to his exit, it was said that he called the shots at the club, but you don’t hear it anymore now.”
Oliseh added that accountability and work ethic now define the dressing room culture at PSG.
He referenced comments from Ousmane Dembélé about players needing to work hard or risk losing their place in the team.
“Players are now saying if they don’t run, they don’t play.”
“When you hear things like that from Dembélé, who’s the best player in the world, that tells you the club has evolved.”
PSG Chasing European Glory
Oliseh believes the club’s progress is now visible on the pitch, especially with PSG reaching another UEFA Champions League final using largely the same squad structure over the past two years.
“This is the evolution of football.”
“They’re now in the Champions League final with practically the same team for 24 months.”
The comments are likely to spark debate among football fans, especially supporters of Mbappé, who remains one of the biggest stars in world football despite criticism surrounding his influence at club level.
