Sky Blues Secure Nigeria International with Promotion-Linked Buy Obligation.

Coventry City have officially announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka on loan from Premier League side Brentford, strengthening their squad for the remainder of the season.
The agreement includes an obligation to make the move permanent should the Sky Blues secure promotion to the Premier League, underlining the club’s confidence in the midfielder’s impact.
Onyeka spent last season on loan at Bundesliga outfit Augsburg, where he made 31 league appearances, gaining valuable top-flight experience in Germany.
Speaking to Coventry City’s official website, the 28-year-old expressed excitement about the new challenge.

“I’m very happy to be here.
I’m a strong midfielder, I’m a winner and I always want to fight for my teammates,” Onyeka said.
He added:
“My aim is to give 100 per cent, bring my experience and help the team get promoted to the Premier League and bring glory to the city again.
I’m very excited to get going and ready to give my all for Coventry.”
Onyeka joined Brentford in the summer of 2021 and went on to make 75 Premier League appearances for the Bees, totaling 87 appearances across all competitions.
The energetic midfielder played a key role in establishing Brentford as a top-flight side, contributing to their ninth-place finish in the 2022/23 season, the club’s highest-ever position in the Premier League era.
Coventry City will now hope Onyeka’s experience, intensity, and winning mentality can drive their push for promotion back to the Premier League.
