Basketball legend surpasses Robert Parish with 1,612th game in thrilling Lakers win.

Basketball icon LeBron James etched his name deeper into history after becoming the NBA’s all-time leader in regular-season appearances, featuring in his 1,612th game during the Los Angeles Lakers’ dramatic 105-104 win over the Orlando Magic.
The 41-year-old surpassed the long-standing record of Robert Parish, who held the previous mark of 1,611 games since retiring in 1997.
Despite the historic milestone, the night nearly ended in disappointment for the Lakers, who trailed 104-102 with just seconds remaining. However, a stunning buzzer-beating three-pointer from Luke Kennard with 0.6 seconds left sealed a dramatic comeback and extended the team’s winning streak to nine games.
James contributed 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Luka Dončić led the scoring with 33 points. However, Dončić picked up his 16th technical foul of the season, triggering a suspension that will see him miss the upcoming clash against the Detroit Pistons.
LeBron James said: “It was a regular prep day… I know once I stepped on the floor that I was breaking the record, and that’s a pretty cool thing.”
The achievement adds to an already remarkable résumé for James, who is currently in his 23rd NBA season and holds multiple records, including all-time points scored and the longest streak of games with at least 10 points.
Including playoff appearances, James has now featured in 1,904 career games, further solidifying his legacy as one of the greatest players in basketball history.
